Sail-a-thon on the Toms River
Benefits ALO

Sixteen year old Britton Tullo is a Barnegat Bay Watch Monitor who decided to do a summer community project. The result of much hard work by herself and her parents, Tom and Carol, was the 1st annual Barnegat Bay Youth Sail-a-thon. It was held August 26th and hosted by the Toms River Yacht Club.

Awards ceremony after a successful day.

A beautiful day saw participants make either five laps around the course or complete two hours on the water, using canoes, kayaks or one of the three types of sailboats. A special guest was Congressman Jim Saxton who reminded us of the constant vigilance needed to protect our local waters and the diligence of the Alliance for a Living Ocean.

One more lap to go.

Grand Prize - a Kayak.

Sponsors of the event were Bob Kislin's outdoor sports, Colie Sails, Circuit City, Jersey Paddler, Gangi Graphics, Team Vanguard and Boat U.S. Fun was had by all.

ALO thanks everyone involved in the successful day!
