ALO was founded in 1987 in response to the problem of medical waste washing up on our beaches. We played a large role in solving that problem and we are still a grass-roots organization, solely focused on environmental issues that are occurring right in your backyard. Members of the board of trustees are all volunteers who live in or spend a lot of time in the area, and are truly vested in what happens here.
