Get Involved The number one way to get involved with ALO is to become a member. Our membership is critical to our success; the simple act of joining provides much needed support and adds to the strength of our voice. Membership fees and donations are fully tax deductible. Funds go directly to furthering our mission and every penny counts! We welcome your participation and are happy to help you find the right event for which to volunteer. It’s a lot of fun to get out there, meet new people, and make a difference. Opportunities include manning the ALO table at one of LBI’s seasonal events, spending time in the office supporting our director, talking to visitors, and working the retail “green room,” and being on hand at one of our special events or summer programs. Summer interns play a huge role in the organization throughout the season. If you are a high school or college student who loves the ocean and needs service or internship credits, ALO is a great opportunity.
