As part of their community outreach program, ALO enters a float each year in the Ship Bottom Christmas Parade. This year's entry, "Sandy Claus Cruisin' with Rudy and the Pod" won, for the 2nd year in a row, first prize for non-profit organizations and first prize for the best adaptation of the parade theme. Don Southwick, designer of the float, played Sandy Claws, and was accompanied on the float by members of the Daisy Scout Troop.
