Adopt-A-Beach or Storm Drain Keeping track of and keeping trash out of the ocean are the goals of ALO’s “adopt” programs and you are the steward. It’s simple. All you have to do is register at ALO and pick up a data sheet. Go to the public beach of your choice or monitor a drain in your neighborhood. Pick up all the trash on the beach or near the drain before it washes away! Dispose of it properly. Adopt just once or make it part of your routine. Fill out your data sheet and return it to ALO. You will receive a “Certificate of Adoption” upon receipt. Your data helps ALO understand and address the garbage problem better. This is a great program for anyone, but also makes an ideal project for schools, scouts, or clubs. We can help you implement the project and issue special recognition, just ask.
