Bay Seining Days

Come seine with ALO. It is your opportunity to learn about and examine the creatures living in the bay.

Shellfish, Fish and a Healthy Bay
Learn how baby clams are raised first in land-based nurseries and then in water-based upwellers, and how poor water quality can affect the health of the creatures in the bay. Then sein the bay and experience the sea creatures up close.

Open to adults and children.

Raising Clams in Barnegat Bay
The ReClam the Bay organization is part of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension program. They grow and maintain millions of baby clams and oysters in an effort to repopulate the shellfish in our local bay. Come see and learn about this project via RCTB’s great PowerPoint slide show and other materials.

Earth Day Celebration - Spring Clean Up
Come and help cleanup the winter debris on Bonnet Island, part of the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. This island is a favorite stopover spot for migrating birds. Let’s keep it clean.

International Coastal Cleanup
ALO, working with the Ocean Conservancy, will coordinate the International Cleanup in Southern Ocean County
