12th Annual ALO Longboard Classic
Alliance for a Living Ocean is pleased to announce the 12th Annual ALO Longboard Classic will take place on Long Beach Island on August 1, 2020.
The ALO Longboard Classic will be held at the 17th Street Beach area in Ship Bottom, NJ 08008
The event is named the “Classic” because only vintage longboards will be allowed, and the contestants will be scored by classic contest criteria such as noserides, hanging ten, cheater fives, dropknee turns, fin first takeoffs, spinners, length of ride and cross-stepping style. Boards should be pre 1967 and of a length 3 feet over your own height. No leashes, and no board modifications.
Our goal once again this year is to fill up a 48 slot bracket for the Open Mens Division so we can create a fair and easy to organize bracket. Spots are first come first serve and we will open an alternate ticketing option once we have filled the bracket.
Ladies, we saw our biggest women’s bracket to date last year. We’re hoping to get you all surfing earlier for round 1 with a full bracket set ahead of time as well. 16-24 total women is our goal, so if you know some lady sliders, please invite them to join us.
If you’d only like to surf the Tandem Division please contact us at email@example.com and we’ll get you set up for that division.
The main goal of this long running event is to raise funds for ALO to continue our mission of promoting and maintaining clean water and a healthy coastal environment. Oh yea and to have a ton of fun while doing it!
